Five butterflies.
Our class read this amazing book called Bunnicula. This was the story of a family who finds a bunny and brings him home to live with their unusual dog and cat. Chester, the cat, likes to read, and Harold, the dog, writes. In fact, he wrote this book! The animals decide that something is mysterious about Bunnicula and they try to figure out the truth about the rabbit. We thought this book was really outstanding because it had good details that made us "see" the story. This book made our class laugh. We recommend you read it in the dark, with a flashlight!

Stone Fox - John Reynolds Gardiner
Rating: 5 suns.
In reading this month we finished Stone Fox. This story of a little boy and his struggle to keep his potato farm helped me understand what it was like to live in a small town of Wyoming a long time ago. When I read the part about the Native Americans losing their land, I understood how they could have resented the white man. I had never really thought about that before. My favorite part was the race. This is a must-read book with a surprise.
